Bad color Engine.

Review: I bought the TV in November and it had excellent color and picture. Unfortunately, the color engine made a loud humming noise. We contacted Sharp and they were very good at getting our TV to a repair center. The repair center changed out the color...

Review: We love ours. Purchased it from Costco.com for $999 in Nov 06, and no issues at all with it. My gut tells me to get a maintenance contract added to it though..so I think I may consider that.
