Product Description

 
The unusual position of the gear lever, which protrudes from the lower dashboard area, takes a while to get used to, but it has some advantages over a standard shift lever. Its higher up and closer to the steering wheel, so theres less time spent going back and forth between the steering wheel and the shifter. In fact, the proximity of the shift lever tends to encourage the driver to keep his/her hands on the steering wheel rather than leaving one hand on the shift lever between shifts. On the negative side, the driver has to raise their hand higher up to reach the shifter, so its not quite as easy as dropping your hand down onto a floor shifter

A rare combination of Quality and Economy.

The Bottom Line: One of Honda's best economy cars got even better, this car is a must for fuel economy enthusiasts, who also like a taste of luxury.
Review: Introduced in the 1970's as one of smallest cars sold in America, the Civic has not only grown, it has become superiorly refined, much more reliable, and on a personal note; looks especially better then ever for 2002.

good little (but bumpy) car

The Bottom Line: Overall, this is a great car for a college kid or a first car. Personally, I will not buy another one because of the bumpy ride.
Review: I lease a 2002 Honda Civic EX (blue) and am just about up on the lease. I've mostly liked the car in the time I've had it.
It is quick and overall fast (I've done 120 mph, scary though)

83K Update! Low Maintenance, Gas Sipper, and Running Smoothly

The Bottom Line: I'd shop around similar models to suit individual taste, but this car probably wins out.

After 83K miles, and 5 years 3 months of ownership (car paid off!) I can say this was car was the perfect choice for me. Calculating the savings in gas and insurance since I traded in an ugly green SUV...
