Nikon D2X Digital Camera

Product Description

The new D2X Professional digital SLR has a 12.4 million pixel DX format CMOS sensor, by default the D2X can shoot at 5 fps, however it has an interesting 6.8 milion pixel option which reduces the sensing area (to a FOV crop of 2x) but increases the frame rate to 8 fps. Hence the D2X can be seen as two cameras in one, a 12.4 million pixel high resolution shooter and a 6.8 million pixel high frame rate shooter. Obviously the use of CMOS is new to Nikon but also new on this camera is a four channel read-out from the sensor and the ability to perform WB correction to the analogue data before it is digitized. Also new is the WT-2 wireless transmitter with 802.11 b/g support and wireless Capture Control.

Nice And Pricey

Date of Review:  Sep 14, 2006
The Bottom Line: This is a serious camera for serious photographers.
Review: When we first arrived in Korea, the boss took us out to Gyeongbukgung and toured us around snapping pictures with this very nice looking camera. I thought, hmm, while in Korea I must acquire a digital camera. Of course, this though was lost under an...

It Needs To Be Seen and Used to Be Truly Appreciated

Date of Review:  May 6, 2005
The Bottom Line: When you want the very best that digital has to offer, look no further than the D2X!
Review: Of late, I have concluded that I am perhaps one of the luckiest amateur photographers around. I say this because I was allowed to 'borrow' a Nikon D2X and use it for a weekend of photographic discovery. Having done so, I am, as a true fan of film,...

Nikon D2X - The Wait Was Worth It

Date of Review:  Oct 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you love taking great pictures easily and want to focus on the photography rather than the instrument, then find a way to buy this camera.
Review: The Nikon D2X is the digital camera I've been waiting for since digital photography got going about a decade ago. Is anyone in the market for about three darkrooms worth of film based color processing equipment? Mine will be gone soon.

I...
