The ProLiant BL p-Class GbE2 Interconnect Kits offer fully redundant Gigabit Ethernet network adapter (NIC) signal consolidation for customers who demand advanced network functionality and unparalleled investment protection in an extremely user friendly design. Additionally, the p-Class GbE2 Interconnect Kits offer the ability to pass-through ProLiant BL20p G2 Fibre Channel signals via the optional GbE2 Storage Connectivity Kit. Therefore, both LAN cable consolidation and SAN connectivity is possible using a single interconnect option. Each GbE2 Interconnect Kit ships standard with two 24-port, managed layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switches that support a future layer 3-7 switching option. Uplink options are available for either copper (10/100/1000T) or fiber (1000SX) Ethernet networks. Additionally, each GbE2 interconnect switch includes a 4-port 10 gigabit bridge switch supporting a future 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplink upgrade.
