The Bottom Line: A great universal lens for both APS-C and Full Frame (35mm). There are faster lenses, but this one offers great performance for a somewhat moderate price.

The perfect lens for the canon Eos 5D

The Bottom Line: Recommend strongly for Canon EOS full frame cameras. Perfect combo for the EOS 5D. Fast autofocus, effective image stabilization, and superb image quality.

The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM lens is an easy-to-use, standard zoom lens with a large zoom range from 24mm (wide angle) to 105mm (telephoto). It has a built in image stabilizer and can correct up to 3 stops. It is built with a super UD glass element and three aspherical lenses. The lenses help minimize chromatic aberration and distortion. It also has USM (ultrasonic motor) that gives quick automatic focusing and has full time manual focus as well. The lens is dust and moisture resistant and is very durable. In my opinion, I would rate this lens a 5 because it has excellent image quality, letting me shoot super sharp, clear pictures. It is a great walk-around lens for general use and is used by many professional photographers. The price ranges anywhere from 900.00 to 1200.00 new, depending on where you purchase it. Pros: Excellent image quality, Sturdy and durable, Large focal range Cons: Somewhat heavy, Price is expensive
