I have ordered several times from Vitacost and have always had extremely fast shipping. I was very happy until I placed my last order on May 23, 2007. It is now June 1, and I have not heard anything about the status of my order. The items that I ordered said they will "ship in less than 24 hours", and they still say that even now - but my order still has not been shipped.
It looks like other people have had to wait for a month or more by reading some other reviews here, so I have no idea how long I'll have to end up waiting now. Luckily I didn't get roped into the "free shipping" offer.
Perhaps the most disturbing thing is that I have sent several messages to their customer service (who they say will respond in 24 hours), and I still have not heard back. I'm an understanding person. I'm not unreasonable. I've worked in retail. I understand that things happen. If they would at least give me some response. Even a bad excuse is better than ignoring a customer altogether.
Two weeks ago I would have recommended this store. Now I recommend you shop somewhere else.
Update 6/2/07 - I finally received a response which says
"There was some problems with our shipping department, but all is well now and your order will ship out to you Monday morning." This is better news, and we will see what happens Monday.
Update 6/4/07 - (Monday) My order still says that it has not yet shipped as of 9 p.m. EDT.
Update 6/6/07 - Another email to customer service, and they now say that they "
have contacted management to find out what is going on". I also asked to cancel my order in this latest email, which they did not address.
Update 6/7/07 - After 2 weeks, my order has finally shipped today. I still have no explanation as to why it took so long. They did offer me free shipping on my next order, but unfortunately I feel that their offer is too little too late. They could have taken the shipping off of this order. I won't get the free shipping since I highly doubt that I will ever order from them again.
As I said before, I would be quite understanding if something I ordered was out of stock or even if they could give me a good reason why products that were in stock took 2 weeks to ship out. The lack of communication is my biggest problem.
So, my review has turned into a small novel. I will end it now. There are too many other places for customers to shop for me to shop here again.
