I can't say I will never buy Toshiba products again, but I can say I will never buy from toshibadirect.com again. Their card verification, which takes their competitors less than 10 seconds, took Toshiba a week and multiple phone calls at my initiation. Their 7-10 day delivery is going on 6 weeks. They said they shipped (on the last day of the month to book the sale?) but UPS had no record of actually scanning it in as picked up. Multiple calls to Toshiba led to multiple stories on the shipment status that were inconsistent and contradictory. I had the impression that their reps would say anything and fall back on scripted lies. Today, it starts all over again as now they say it just shipped yesterday.
I have owned, recommended, and enjoyed Toshiba laptop products for many years. This experience, though, has me thinking that the honeymoon is probably over. I have dealt with many other vendors over the years as well (I provide IT sourcing for my company) and none has been as unreliable or seemingly dishonest as toshibadirect.com. |

I made a point of purchasing the laptop before the promotion expired on November 25th. I was extremely upset to learn that on November 26th, there was a new promotion offering two free upgrades to 2 gb memory and 250 gb hard drive. When I called customer service to see if I could get the two free upgrades on the product I purchased, I was basically told "sorry." I was excited about making the purchase right after I placed the order and thought I had a really good deal - because of the upgrade promotion, I feel like I didn't get a very good deal.
I was also told over the phone that it would be sent via 3 day shipping. The laptop was shipped on December 1st - according to UPS tracking, it will be delivered on December 7th, so it's closer to a week.

Some of these questions are really unfair. I still have not received my order. I was informed that my order is out of stock and new planed shipment date is 12/04/2009. Would I shop here again? Maybe. I'm ordering direct from Toshiba? So if they are out of stock there is nothing that can be done about it. Can't answer #2 because I still don't have it. #6 makes no sense to me at all. I ordered online and that was that. No mail or phone call was ever made.

Everytime I used my credit card, especially the fact I buy things from Toshiba, I have to verify my order, which is in fact a good thing so no one can just order anything, only problem is I travel alot and can't always call, they have no other way to verify the order, but call.

I was very disappointed to spend my time evaluating the options, customising my selection and checking out; only to receive an email instructing me to call the credit card service section and then finally told ToshibaDirect does not cater to international customers.
If you will not sell internationally, then please provide some notice on your website. Consider including a checkbox with a link to sale restrictions.

I ordered the battery over the weekend via my computer. On Monday I received an e-mail that it was shipped. On Wednesday morning the battery was delivered by UPS to my home. It can't get any better than that. Since I live in a small community in No. Arizona that was excellent service. I have bought a few items from Toshiba before and the service has always been excellent. I have had years of service from their computers and both their products and service couldn't be better.

The order was shipped UPS and was received within a week; however, my computer confirmation was not updated until after I had received my order.

I ordered a power cord for a older model Toshiba Satellite laptop. The price was roughly one-half of the price being asked at Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max, and other local computer stores. The ordered product arrived in a timely fashion. Give Toshiba customer service an A. There was only one minor glitch in the whole experience, and that involved obtaining up-to-date correct phone numbers for Toshiba Direct, as opposed to that of Toshiba Computer Help Center and another Toshiba Customer Service (in a different state and city). Otherwise, I am 100% personally satisfied.
