I brought a netbook online and it said it was in stock when ordering but 4 days went by and it did not get ship. I called and they said it was backordered. The order did get shipped out and I received it in a reasonable amount of time for Christmas.

I purchased a customized Toshiba L550-ST2722 17" laptop from Toshiba Direct, & I am very happy with it. I bought it on sale, after Black Monday. It's an excellent purchase. One thing I wish Toshiba would offer though are recovery discs with it computers--I'd pay extra for this, as it took me over 2 hours to make these myself after receiving the laptop.

Customer # 2643391 Order # 3C5L4N Order on hold Tried calling 3 different times. On hold for long time on the first 2 tries. Credit Card info supplied accurate (same info on file with credit card company)but wanted more info. Have had credit card for more than 10 years. In excellent stadning with credit card company. Work from 1 PM to 1 AM, so unable to receive packages at residence. Have purchased this way for more than 10 years. Have purchased items costing more than current purchase. This is the only company I have ever dealt with where there were problems. Purchased 4 different laptops in the past 7 years: Gateway, Dell, HP and a less powerful Toshiba laptop than is currently in hold status. I like the Toshiba the best. I wanted a more powerful laptop than my current one. Most of my purchases are on-line because it reduces the amount of time it takes to buy (except for this time). Because of the delays, I am no longer interested in this laptop, and have purchase an Alienware laptop over the internet using the same information suppplied to Toshiba. I have recommended Toshiba to several of my colleagues who have purchased toshiba laptops (Satellite Pro - like mine). I will no longer recomment Toshiba. I will never buy any more Toshiba products. I have worked at the same company for more than 10 years. I have had this credit card for more than 10 years. All of the information given to Toshiba is the same information on file with the credit card company. I have never been treated this badly in any transaction. You have my cell phone number and my work phone number. If I do not hear from you on Monday 12/21/09 by 4 PM CST, this order is cancelled. Congratulate the people who decided to delay my order and lost your company an $1800 sale and all future business.

The only negative with this purchase is very minor. They did not send a shipping notice email, so a few days after my order I went to the site, signed in, and was able to see the tracking info. The package arrived the next day. I've just become accustomed to most online retailers sending shipping notification, call me spoiled!

it was awesome! received the cords & hooked it up to the computer that's been down for a bit because of the original & secondary cords didn't work. got the new one & within 1/2 hour the computer was & is up & running... so far, so good!

The laptop is a Christmas gift so do not know yet if it is in good condition or not. Two of the accessories (wireless mouse and USB Hub) are working in good condition and very satisfied with them. After Christmas I will know more about the laptop, case, and mini mouse for the laptop.

While the quality of the laptop is great and is the second or third toshiba laptop I have owned,I was very unhappy with their third party distribution of the windows upgrade that I purchased with the laptop. It was to be delivered after it came out in October. I have never recieved the upgrade after numerous e-mails / faxes and attachments of proof of purchase with a few phone calls to toshiba. The phone calls refered me to the third party distributor and basically tell me to just wait and see. All of this has led to the next laptop I need to purchase in the next few weeks not being a toshiba.

Would of like the option to not have installed some programs. Examples: Microsoft Office 2007 trial (I already have a full version disk of this product); Norton Antivirus (I prefer a different antivirus program). When I called Toshiba directly they told me that the software must be included, unlike Dell where they would not install what you do not want. My main reason for this is especially on these two products, they mess us your system if you do not continue after the trial period. On the positive side, when I called,they did explain the difference between the batteries and the optical drive. The web site does need customer service contact to interact with questions on options.
