Awful. I ordered a guitar from them for my daughter. This was a brand new Wachburn. It has a crack in the neck by the head, the crack goes through to both sides. This is the type of thing that will spread and break.
I called them, and not only did I ge tthe run around about returns, but the final process is a pain, and it leave you without an instrument for sometime. The attitudes of the people I spoke with were horrible. They didn't really care about customer service, and even tried to convince me the guitar would be OK like this. Don't buy online, go buy at a store where you can inspect before bringing it home, and where you can meet with someone face to face if you have a customer service issue. It will be well worth your time, and the few extra dollars will be worth some actual customer service. |

I ordered from Sam Ash and I was very very happy with my order. It arrived in 3 days, and I didnt even pay for faster shipping. Bass came packaged well and no problems with the packaging at all. I like the nice, fast, prompt service I got with the order. Very pleased. :)

The guy on the phone was nice and offered me a discount for the amp I was ordering. Then I asked about a case for the amp and he said they had one to fit. It fit alright, with room for another amp as well. I was expecting something much smaller for a 2 x 12 combo amp.
The items came on time and the amp case was shipped free. When I called about returning it because it was too big they said they would not pay to ship it back and shipping for me was $150, over half the cost of the case. When I called them back again to see if they would pay for the shipping they said they would have to review my case and call me back. I never got a call and got stuck with the case. I had to by foam and glue it in to line the case just some my amp would not flop around. I will buy elsewhere from now on. Too many places to choose from to deal with stores that will not work with you. |

Ordered new electric axe Saturday night FedEx 2nd day air. Received tracking number a few hours later. Monday: FedEx has no record of it being shipped. Tuesday: Called SamAsh and they tell me it was shipped Saturday (FedEx doesn't pick up on Saturday)

I used to work at a sam ash retail store many years ago. We were ordered to do all kinds of nasty immoral things, like repackage returned products and reseal them with a shrink wrap machine in the back room and then sell them as new products. If you buy from sam ash after reading this then you have only yourself to blame if your item arrives with damage or fishy packaging or pieces missing.

I initially ordered a Larrivee LV03E acoustic guitar because my friend has one and they sound great. I received the first one and the preamp battery was busted. It wouldn't stay in the down position. I returned it and waited 4 weeks for a replacement!! Received second one and there were 2 big, deep scratches on the 5th and 6th fretboard. I'm returning this one for a refund. The first one was unusable and the second one should have been sold as a "scratch and dent" item. I will never order from them again! NEVER!! I ordered the same model from MusciansBuy. Hopefully I have better luck...

Without question, dealing with this company has been my worst experience in all aspects. I ordered a guitar from this site and they transposed the digits of my address. FedEx tracking claims it was delivered, but the altered address does not even exist!. I called customer service four times and was told,"we will look into it". Everytime I called though, they said there was no record of my previous calls. The fifth time, I talked to a sales manager who informed me that it was not their problem, that they would do nothing for me. So, somebody got a free guitar, ash got my money, and I know of one site that I will never deal with again!
Do yourself a favor and find another source. |

Worst experience I've had. I would recommend finding somewhere else. Customer service told me that I was wrong, not matter what I said, told me that when they said on the phone there was a 99% chance the order would ship that I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up, and then charged my credit card immediately, making it an arduous process to get a refund. There are places that ship the same day for free, guaranteed, cost less, and the service is much better.

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM SAM ASH!
Ordered an item to give as a Christmas 2006 present several weeks before hand. Card was charged immediately, and delivery ETA was well before December 25th. It is now January 3rd and the item has not arrived. I have no idea why, as they have provided no order status or other notifications, and all my emails have gone unanswered. This is the worst experience I have had with any online retailer. |

Very slow to ship by E-business standards...in stock items don't ship for at least a week. And, unlike most e-businesses, they charge your CC immediately, even if the item is not in stock. Website is often inaccurate and breaks in the middle of trying to place an order, leaving you in limbo- "did I place the order or not?" Who knows! Having said all that, I don't think I've been shipped any B-Stock items. And 15 months to pay is a good deal, if you're willing to put up with the other bull@#!*

What a scam! This business offers huge discounts on musical equipment. BUYER BEWARE! The last guitar I purchased was lousy. The pick-ups went out within two days. Since it was used I could NOT return it for a refund. Only an in store exchange. So, I ended up buying a new guitar. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS! I was offered no sympathy by SA. In fact, corporate is even more rude!
I found out since then that the reason they can offer the low prices is because they offer the "second rate rejects". You know, the equipment that the makers need to unload. I will never buy from this store again, you truly get what you pay for...Buyer beware! |

The products I ordered came extremely fast and the price was terrific. I couldn't be happier with the experience. I have never had any problems with their service, and my friends have told me that Sam Ash goes out of its way to deal with any problems that arise -- you can even speak to a member of the Ash family -- no corporate nonsense.

I would never shop with these guys again. Sent me the wrong horn, when I called up to try to rectify the situation they told me that I incorrectly ordered the horn. Luckily, I had my email receipt in front of me and after forcing thier CS rep to pull up the order, they said 'Oh, look at that, we did screw up'. Then after paying for expedited shipping in the first place, I had to ask to get them to reimbursed for the shipping. Terrible customer service, order accuracy and overall satisfaction.

This is the worst guitar Store in the World!They start their instrument sale by trying to sell you "insurance" on the guitar.This is even more important to them than making the customer happy with a good price.Speaking of which they advertise themselves as being a discount house but they are far from it.their sales are bogus scams,refusing to combine any discount with their promotional financing.All you hear is you can't do this,you can't do that.they don't even allow a few months for a layaway like they used to.Most of the sales help are nasty and condescending.They make what should be a happy experience a dreadful one.Will never go there again!!Bad news.

I called to ensure all items were in stock, ordered them, and get delivered only two of three. No email to tell me that the other item was on back order, no chance to cancel the other orders (and find someone else to save on shipping).
If you call to see that your item is in stock, the answer may be yes may be no, but unlikely to have anything to do with reality in the stockrooms. And don't expect to be told as much, or have a chance to cancel your entire order. |

Sam Ash are an old brick-and-mortar music store but fairly new to on-line retailing, and they still have a way to go to equal retailers like Musician's Friend. So far I've only ordered small items from them, like strings, cables and drumheads, and I've been pleased with the price and speed of shipping, but I've heard to many stories of customer service problems for me to try ordering something expensive. Your milage may vary.

I have ordered from Sam Ash many times. The beauty of this company is that even though they are large, they are still family owned. If you ever had a problem (only one time) you can call their headquarters where you actually get to spaek to the president himself. Your not dealing with some faceless publicly owned company. You can't beat the selection and they have alway stood by their 50 state/60 day price policy. You actually have 60 days to find a beter price. You can't beat that.

I ordered a guitar about a year ago about the time gibson dropped them .Of course it was a gibson lp that i ordered .Then when no guitar came in ,it was sorry about your luck .No attempt to satisfy me so I took my business to musicians friend .Now its time to make another guitar purchase ,so to give sam ash another chance. I now have made two attempts to get a price on a fender showmaster standard from the indianapolis store.I talked directly to the guitar dept. bolth times.Guess what no return call ,so I guess back to musicians frien I go.

I ordered a guitar a cable and a strap for a cheap price. So i was all happy then they said they no longer make my strap i wanted so they said they would pick a strap that looks alike meanwhile i checked all other stores and they had my strap so i was pretty upset until a week later i called and said wheres my package, they said it was shipped so they checked and they delivered it to north carolina while it was supposed to be shipped to new york. Two weeks later i get my stuff and the cable didnt work so they said 2 ship it back and i'd get a new one immediately well 2 months have passed and i still didnt get my cable and whenever i call they say there cables are out of stock. So keep that in mind.

Do not buy anything from samash.com! I placed an order for a Line 6 Guitarport. They charged my credit card immediately. 1 Week later the order tracking suggested that they had not even processed my order, let along ship it. After emailing them 3 (yes 3!) times I finally got a response saying that they could not ship it because it was not in stock. When I ordered it the website said it was in stock, and when I the reply came back their website said it was in stock. They have clearly misrespresented the availability (and hence shipping time), and to rub salt in the wound also charge my credit card and hold my money! I had to ask my credit card to reverse the charge to resolve the issue. Waste of time - you have been warned!

We got a great product for the price-- Epiphone electric guitar. Since the guitar in its shipping container was too big to ship to an APO address, I wanted to have the guitar and a case shipped to someone else who was going to bring it on the plane to us here overseas. Customer service at Samash saved the day for me when they told me that the airlines only accept a certain quality of case so I bought that instead. (I checked with the airlines and Customer Service was right). Had Customer Service not told us that, we would have gotten out to the airport, only to have the airlines refuse the guitar. We had a good experience with this company, and follow up orders for music and strings and things have been accurate.
