We placed an order for a Jenn-Air microwave on October 13th and received the normal email confirmation of our order, but a week later, had not received any updates on when our microwave had shipped. We emailed them requesting an update on our order and never heard back. My husband called them, (by this time it was two weeks from the date of our order) and they told my husband they'd have to check into it and would call him back. We then received an email from Rainbow about 30 minutes later asking us to contact them, when we did we were told that the microwave was no longer available. So, not only did we wait two weeks to find out a product we ordered was no longer available, but the customer service rep my husband spoke to was rude about the whole situation and never offered an apology. I have never, ever written a review about any product or company before, but we would strongly advise against anyone ordering from this company.

Everything went smoothly with my purchase. The product (a natural gas grill) arrived in a reasonable timeframe and in flawless condition. Customer communication was minimal but adequate. The freight carrier was courteous and professional; they provided a tracking number and called me thirty minutes before delivery (per my request).
The vendor does not offer the level of flash and hand holding you get from some of the big online players, but they offered the essentials and did so at the best price I could find on the web. I can’t say what customer service might have been like had something gone wrong, but nothing went wrong, so I was happy. |

The price was great. I did not hear from them for awhile about delivery and I emailed to find out what was happening with my order. I did not hear back and had to call. I was told it would be shipped out in 3 days. I did not receive comfirmation of shipping and had to call again. I was told the manufacturer was messing them around. That was understandable but better communication would have been appreciated. Once it was shipped it arrived promtly. I would order from them again.

THE BAD:
Ordered my grill on a Monday and was disappointed to hear the guy on the phone tell me it would probably not ship until Thursday. Even more disappointed to find that it actually did not ship until THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY (NINE DAYS after I placed the order). THE GOOD: The grill arrived in perfect condition, and on time (once it shipped, I got confirmation and an estimated date of delivery). I saved a good chunk of cash. I would have been much happier if they had been up front with me about how it would take to get it out after I ordered, but overall I'm very happy now. I am a big believer in Weber - have been for more than a decade. This is a GREAT GRILL! |

Do not buy from Rainbow. They have still not returned our money for the Liebherr refrigerator which stopped working while under warranty, was ordered returned by the distributor as they had no repair person at Lake Tahoe. The distributor, on a conference call with Rainbow and us confirmed they had received the refrigerator and credited Rainbow, Rainbow agreed to return out money. We have never received a refund. We have made repeated attempts to contact the owner-to the exasperation of his secretary. We are in California they are on the east coast-makes small claims court difficult. Distributor great, secretary great. Do not buy from them.

horrible-
do not order from them even if their prices seem worthwhile. ordered a built-in weber grill in late august and still have not received it. have called literally weekly to see what is up and they say none of the calls have been logged. would have cancelled but each week i was told, it's coming and so i held on hope. they offered to switch to another model but it's a built-in and we already were in the process of using its dimensions for our backyard grill. the customer service is nice enough but they have no clue as to actually get anything done (they will email shipping for replies and shipping doesn't respond). shipping then sends me an email to call to see if i still want the grill- which obviously i do but with no records of my calling they didn't know that. until i see the grill itself, my job will be to make sure no one else has to suffer the same horrible fate. i can't comment on the delivery yet. we'll see but i just want the grill to get here. |

We are a condominium association in Florida, and had been looking for a replacement grill, we found that Rainbow Appliance had the best price overall.

I ordered a Weber Summit grill, which was delivered quickly, though the delivery was not at the scheduled time by any means. It was priced approximately $300 less than the competition. As other reviewers have mentioned, of course it was delivered damaged. I did not realize it until I opened the box 2 days later. I called and arranged for the grill to be picked up and returned. My wife stayed out of work for 2 separate days to wait for the delivery service to take the grill back to the store!!! They simply did not show up, despite confirmation by Rainbow and their delivery service. It took approximately 3 weeks + for the refund back to my credit card. In retrospect, I believe that their prices are low because they probably buy the goods damaged, sell them, and then expect people to deal with the repair through the manufacturer's warranty. Eli even tried to give me a credit and send parts for the repair, so I could do them. Would you really want a brand new grill for $1400 that needed repairs on arrival? I didn't think so!

I ordered a BBQ grill on Thursday. Email confirmation received immediately. No shipping information, no status on their website. No information emailed, or phone call, for six days. I called them Wednesday of next week. The woman on the phone was unfriendly, sounded as though she's been through too many complaints. She said it's out of stock, will be in a few days, call back. I should call them back when my order is not in stock, when the website did not indicate that? If you are expecting a minimal level of customer service, forget it. I canceled my order.

IT WOULD BE A MISTAKE TO ORDER ON LINE FROM THIS COMPANY. On 8-25-09 I ordered a over the range microwave thru their on line internet site. When the order finally arrrived, 9-3-09 the microwave was double boxed and there was no damage to the shipping carton. To my surprise and amazement the microwave in the the inner carton was not in the original factory carton or packing, just some random box. Worst of all, the steel handle had a dent in it. It couldn't have been damaged in shipping so it has to have been shipped to me damaged and not in the factory pack which is supposed to be their policy. After several calls Rainbow had the carton picked up and returned back to them and they credited my master card. I can't believe they would try to pull such a thing, this is business at it's worst.

Over the past few years, I've purchased over 10K of stuff on line and this is the first time I had trouble with a merchant. I placed an order through Bing search and used an rainbow appliance coupon. They delayed the shippment for over two weeks (because it was not in stock), and during the waitting period the bing cashback was taken away. I spoke with a extremely rude "service" rep and was told it was my fault that I didn't read the find prints that cashback cannot be used with merchant coupon. I said fine I need to cancel this order since it hasn't been shipped. You known what, they wanted to charge me restocking fee AND shipping fee, for something that is not even in stock or shipped. Typically bait and switch business mode.

Very poor. My dryer was received with heavy damage, then I had to argue with Rainbow Appliance management about what they were going to do to fix the dryer. After a huge run around I got a small credit on the dryer. Very poor company to work with. Choose a different one.

I ordered a Frigidaire dehumidifier from Rainbow due to the low price compared to other vendors. My card was charged the same day. I received a tracking number 2 days later, but after a week without receiving the package I called Fed Ex and they had never received it. I called Rainbow and the customer service rep was rude and when I asked to cancel my order, I was told I would be charged a restocking fee... even though my order had never left. After speaking to a manager I was assured that they would 'find' my order or refund my payment. I had to call back again and speak to another rude customer service rep to request my order be cancelled. I'm still waiting on the refund, but if it doesn't hit in a couple days, I will dispute the charge. Needless to say... BAD EXPERIENCE.

Ordered a Weber S-670 grill from Rainbow, saved about $800 verses going to Lowes. At first, I wasn't sure what to expect considering the price difference, but I was happy to see my grill show up about 5 days after the order (by common carrier). My only complaint was the lack of a confirming email getting sent out after the purchase, but I did get a shipping confirmation a few days later. I see loads of bad stories on these guys, I can't speak for them, but I had a good experience.
