My cook-top burned out after 15 years. I searched local stores for a replacement and was stunned by the prices. I did manage to narrow my choices to two different brands and models... GE and Bosch.
I tried searching the Internet for appliance dealers, expecting to find shipping prices that overshadowed any price savings. I found many dealers that carried the models I wanted and the prices together with shipping charges varied widely. I found two factory authorized dealers with combined prices that offered significant savings over purchasing the cook-top locally. Having had several bad on-line buying experiences, I wanted to speak to a live person before ordering. No one answered the phone at the first dealer after three attempts. When I called Rainbow Appliance, I received a recorded message also and left a message just as I did the first dealer. This timw, however, Rainbow called me back. We discussed the cooktop and I confirmed pricing and shipping. I ordered on the phone, paying with a credit card. I saved over 30% delivered!
I ordered the cooktop on Monday, December 15. UPS delivered it in Atlanta, Friday, December 19! You can't beat the price! You can't beat the service! Ranks as one of the best on-line buying experiences.
