Ive sent my mother "long distance flowers" for years. Ive used several services including FTD, but some time back I found Proflowers and I cant imagine ever going elsewhere.
ProFlowers has provided not only consistently high quality flowers, but good prices, good delivery (although its a bit pricy) and a great selection. After a stint as a hospital volunteer gave me a real opportunity to see whats out there, I found fine gerbera daisies at ProFlowers and sent those, twice a year at least, for several years. Then I tried ProFlowers 𣺜 blooms of Peruvian Lilies since they are brightly colored, they last, and there were a lot of flowers. And yes, I did double the order. My mother was amazed and very happy, she had to borrow a third vase to put in her bedroom after filling two (including the free one with the order). She said that was what she wanted me to send every time I sent flowers, no matter the occasion.
I receive a print catalogue now so I always see other items available (with Mothers Day coming up, there are lots of treats as well, from strawberries to organic fruit but come Mothers Day, Ill once again order the lilies. Ive never seen the flowers, but my mother would always ell me what they looked like so I would know if a particular vendor did a good job. Its not a maze to use, their customer service people are responsive (although Ive only had to contact them once in probably eight years) and they supply great flowers, in a box that even someone with arthritis can open. (Dont laugh you dont want to
see the box from 1800flowers I tried to open once!)
The gimmick, if you can call it that, is that theres not middleman, that these flowers come directly from the growers. The price certainly seems reasonable, and you usually get a free vase even though the idea is that the order is
just for the flowers.
Im just glad theyre around because when I send flowers, I know that the recipients (Ive used them since for friends and other family members) will be happy. And isnt that why you send someone flowers?
Recent update - I just bought Mother's Day flowers on this site and as always, the price is good, it was fast and they had exactly what i wanted. I object, however to the marketing of a "freeshipping" link which is not, in fact free, but is a "30 day trial and then you pay" service. Proflowers made it seem as if i would get a rebate and maybe i would, but only after providing a credit card to this related service and having to join the service. This is deceptive and I've complained to ProFlowers about it.
