OK...I learned how it works to buy from Irvs. My wife and I bought two Travelpro cases at good prices (but not great prices, they were matched by a seasonal sale at a large department store). While we assumed that we were buying new merchandise, what we got was the demo stuff from the showroom floor. Both cases had various scratchmarks and obvious wear. Since this was not acceptable to us, I called Irvs to get an RMA number and was surprised when they gave it to me without asking why we were returning the goods (hmmm, maybe they get a LOT of returns). After returning the cases (having paid for shipping), I waited 25 days for a credit to be posted to my credit card...nope, I had to call them. When I told them the goods had been returned, they said their receiving department had no record of it. When I faxed them a copy of the UPS notification proving that it had been delivered to them, THEN they agreed to issue the credit. That was today. I am taking a chance giving this review now because they could still screw with the credit, but I want to give you the information that I didn't have.
Bottom line, if you don't mind paying a pretty good (but not great) price to get luggage that shows some wear, then Irvs is your place. Otherwise, stay away. How much did we save by buying from them and paying $50 to ship it back? We will not buy items like luggage on the internet again. Instead, we will find what we like at the stores and try to negotiate a good price there.
