Be very sure that the item is exactly what you want before you order and also calculate in the final price of the product insurance for the item. The company does not take any reponsbility for items that are damaged once they deliver the merchandise to the shipping company so if an item arrives broken at your home, it is your problem.
If you receive an item and decide you don't want it, then the exchange and refund policy will be very frustrating. For every dollar you spend, expect to receive 75 cents back in a credit to purchase another item. This deduction is in addition to terrible customer service (they will get very loud in an intimidation tactic if you ask for a manger).
The exchange and refund difficulties we experienced include:
This company holds itself out to do business nationally. While items may be ordered at anytime, a consumer may file a service complaint or return an item during the hours of 9-6 EST. This policy creates significant difficulty for consumers in the west especially since the email address provided to consumers on the company's website and on the receipt does not work. (see email rejection notice below).
Furthermore, once a returns customer service agent is located, a consumer may not request a return. The customer service agent will email the return department on the consumer's behalf and the consumer is told to expect to hear from the department via email in 2-3 business days. I requested to speak with a manager or the return department in person and was treated to an angry tirade by the service agent and instructed to either wait or leave a voicemail for the manager.
After finally obtaining the return slip, I was instructed to return the items (at my own expense) in a brand new box (at my own expense), and that I will be responsible for any damage that occurs in the shipping process (which requires me to purchase insurance for the items). This policy, in addition to being very frustrating, is a direct contradiction of the company's terms and conditions that state that the items will be refused if not in the original packaging.
The company also charges a 15% restocking fee for all returned items. I'm not sure about the legality of this term, but it is not something they communicate to consumers except in a small sentence in the terms and use.
