the on-line Home Depot has great prices and merchandise that you can't get in-store but....! if you have to contact then via telephone!!!! forget it.... I had to wait 60 minutes (yes, one hour) on hold for an associate to answer my call It is way too long I was very dis-satisfied with that wait time.

I received this item faster than expected, and it was exactly what I had anticipated. The only problem was the item was intended to be a gift but it was too large to have giftwrapped, and it showed up on the front porch in a box with a picture of what it was on the front.

I attempted to purchase 3 ceiling fans via Home Depot's web site. Was advised that one was out of stock and that the order would be filled once more stock arrived. A total of 1 month went by and no ceiling fans were sent. Four phone calls three of which took 45 minutes or more before I got to speak to a live person- they were very polite but 45 minute phone holds is unacceptable. Each person I spoke with advised that the out of stock ceiling fan should be re-stocked within a two week period. On the third phone call I was advised that the other two ceiling fans were now out of stock. At that time it was a full two weeks into waiting for the order to be filled before I was told that all three fans were now out of stock. I was also advised that the two fans that were out of stock should be back in stock and shipped to me within two weeks. On my fourth phone call- waiting another 50 minutes- I was advised that all three fans were out of stock but that two should be back in stock within two weeks. When I pointed out to the person who told me this, that I was told this on my previous phone call- she did offer to send an e-mail to the warehouse and that it would take about three days to get a response. I took a pass and cancelled my order. The only reason I went to Home Depot store to purchase my fans was that I had already delayed the installer by three weeks due to this problem and that a Lowe's store wasn't handy. I would like to think that this was an isolated circumstance but the store in which I purchased my ceiling fans from was the same store I purchased a replacement front door and security door from. As of the purchase date-down payment on April 23. I have been back to the Home Depot a total of four times. At each visit I had to wait at least 30 minutes before the one person working in the millwood/doors section could get to me. There were at least two or three people ahead of me. There have been accuracy problems with the order and on the fourth visit prompted by a phone call from the Home Depot. My file couldn't be found and it appeared that there were going to re do the order again- It had already been redone once because of wrong information from the person at the Millwood/Door desk. I will go back tomorrow atnd speak with the person who helped me on my third visit. He seemed to know what was going on but if my file can't be found it means that I may have to redo the order for a third time. I can't say that I am satisfied with either purchasing experience via the web or the Millwood/Door section of Home Depot.

I like to track my packages and I appreciate being given the tracking number with UPS to do so. A suggestion: when I recently ordered a pkg. from Williams Sononma, in the email with the tracking info, the tracking number was listed and all I had to do was click on the tracking number and it took me directly to the tracking info. It saved me a step, didn't have to cut and past the number.

When I ordered the patio furniture set, via Homedepot.com, Iwas told the item was backordered. That was on 4/22/06. I keept checking every few days to see if there was an update on the status. After approx 3 weeks, I began to call Homedepot.com (1-800-430-3376 )to get a status. Over one weekend, I called 5 times and each time was in queue for approx 30 mins with no mention of heavy call volume. I finally tried another number listed on the 'Contact Us' page - 1-800-553-3199 - and finally got through to someone. He was somewhat hestitant to help me but when I told him I had been in queue for 30 mins each time he confirmed that the hold times were greater than 30 mins. He did look up my order and told me it was set to ship on June 22. I was in disbelief - 3 months to ship the product. Plus Home Depot still had the patio set on thier web page with a status of backordered. I went looking ofr another set and found a different one at Lowes and within 1 day I was able to get the set - at the store. I came back to Homedepot.com to cancel my order. Waited in queue for 54 minutes before getting through (at least I was informed there were long wait times)and canceled my order. I will not shop homedepot.com.

The package has been only a few miles away since 05/09/06. It was advertised as being delivered on time for Mother's Day, but as of 05/19/06 I still have not received my package. I anticipate pursuing this tomorrow, since I could have walked to where the package is and back by now. I will not waste my time and money ordering on Home Depot's website again, especially since there is a Lowes nearby.

The order was processed correctly. I did not receive notification of shipping. I contacted the vendor via phone and was told I would receive an E-Mail when the product shipped. Most of the order arrived the following day when I was not available to receive it. I have still not received E-Mail notification. Otherwise it was a very good transaction.

I placed an online order on 5/1/06. Normal delivery was shown as 5-7 business days. I have not been contacted regarding delivery of my order as of 5/19/06 and I have spent hours "On-Hold" when calling customer service (800-430-3376)- No one answers. When I tried alternate Home Depot telephone numbers and actually reached someone, they told me they could not help me. I've tried to check the status online and all it shows is that I ordered it. I've even sent an email via "Contact Us" and have not received a response to that either. Bottom line, Home Depot's Customer Service stinks!!!!

Attempted to purchase a patio set from the HomeDepot.com website. Ordered on 4/26/06. recieved confirmation email, stating that a shipping confirmation would be sent. After 3 weeks I called to check on the status (I was on hold for 45 minutes), and was told that the items were scheduled to ship on 6/14, and then it would be 10 - 14 business days until the item was recieved. I am currently in the process of attempting to cancel (I am again on hold) the order because the items are all currently available in my local store, and I can possibly have it in my backyard this afternoon, rather than waiting another month.

There was a small dent - on the frig body right next to the door and the door hanlde - in the frig that we noticed after they left, yet it could have happened at the warehouse. We accepted it before we saw it, so "it is ours". Besides, the trouble to have it returned and replaced, even if we had refussed it, would have taken days. We'll have a little reminder of this for our days here, though.

As mentioned previously, I ordered initially from a catalog that said the item had to be ordered directly from the store. Two days after ordering, I received a call that I would have to return to the store for a refund and place the order myself from the website. This was a poor customer experience in my opinion overall. If I were to order again, it would be based purely on the products and prices available, not on the service provided.

Went to the store and found out that it was cheaper to order on-line, than to special order. That process was smooth, but there was no indication of when the shipment would arrive. My chaise lounges both arrived damaged (not from delivery) and I have been trying for 3 weeks to arrange their return and to receive a refund. The onus is on the customer to hound them to get things taken care of.
Not affiliated with the store - you can't return to local Home Depot Stores. If you call, you are on hold for at least 30 minutes. Avoid this site at all costs. |

The shopping experience was good, however, the merchandise had one small flaw, i.e., a hole for a screw was not long enough which meant the screw did not go all the way in. Too minor to pack up the merchandise and return it but very irritating.
