We wanted a top quality mattress after sleeping on a lumpy futon for too many years. We tried a TempurPedic mattress in a retail store. I went online to research TempurPedic and found a very helpful web site not affiliated with any store. It was on that site that Habitat Futons was recommended. I was initially hesitant about ordering online, but between the two sites, they alleviated my concerns. The fact that Habitat had various accreditations from epinions and other online consumer site also alleviated my concerns.
Factors in favor of ordering from Habitat: lack of sales tax, sale price, pillows thrown in, no delivery fee. I ordered by calling the toll free number. |

2/12/09 Called with some questions regarding previous order and how long it lasted (or didn't last) and kind of got the run around from the person on the phone. I decided to not order another cover after our discussion and write this review. This review was a little more negative until the next day when I got a phone call.
UPDATE 2/13/09 Futons online (Habitat Futons) called today and was eager to make things right. I emailed some photos and they are in the process of sending out a new cover for free. I am sending in a piece of the old one when I get the new one. Marc was very helpful and easy to work with. I will update the whole review when everything is complete. UPDATE 2/20/09 Received new cover today.....looks as good or better than the previous one! Very happy with Marc and his quick resolution! I will use them again! Thanks |

We ended up sending our air bed back because we could never keep one side inflated after many replacements, delays & returns. It was very frustrating, but there was no problem with returning the entire bed when that decision was made. We are ordering a natural latex mattress from them now because we think this will be a better alternative for us. Everyone was helpful, but directions weren't always followed, to many people where involved in simple tasks like tracking packages & returns.

Good experience throughout. However, the products arrived a couple of days after the back end of the suggested time frame. One of the foundations was missing a peg and had a minor rip in the interior fabric, which is no big deal as it is inside the "box" and underneath the mattress. They are sending an additional peg after my phone request so that I can complete assembly. I was slightly disappointed in the quality/design of the foundation, seems a bit rushed & cheap, although I don't think I am concerned enough to return them. The mattress is a delight.

The top Aloe vera cover it is not smooth or flat. When I want to lay on it I have to like go over it with my hands to make it flat , and I do not know why or I have to pull the sides so the middle is flat .it is driving me crazy.I will take some photos and I will send them to you.At first I was thinking because the mattress was in a roll for sometimes so that will be smooth after one week but it is the same since I got it.
English is my 2nd language I hope my letter is clear.

It was very easy to get the futon cover we were looking for. We shopped around other stores/online companies, but Habitat Furnishings were the only ones who had exactly what we were looking for. We received our futon cover quickly, and it was perfect. We had contacted their customer service, and the reply was quick and helpful. We are very pleased with Habitat Furnishings, and would definately shop there again.

all but one member of cust svc was helpful - a shipment got lost and accidentally sent back - it came back around, however and the person who tracked it down was excellent. One cust svc agent was abrupt on phone but other than that it was a good experience and I will recommend them.

It's too soon to tell if I would make a similar purchase in the future. It was my understanding that I would get the mattress protector shortly after placing my order. The protector arrived later the same day (20 days after placing order) as the bed arrived after I had installed another mattress protector on the bed.

I ordered specially sized sheets for a futon mattress. They were sized OK but I didn't seem to be the color/style I ordered and was never informed about the substitution. I sent an email to inquire and got an automated acknowledgement but no response. I tried to telephone them, but only got voicemail. You can't contact this company. Sheets seem good, but take your chances on customer service. I won't risk it again.

We were very upset and dissatisfied by our experience with Habitat Futons. Our delivery driver refused to take the old bedding away, a service that we paid for. For a week, calls to Habitat Futon were met with an attitude of complete indifference while my children's playroom was being occupied by the old bed. When the trucking company finally showed up to take away the old bedding, they sent a driver who screamed profanity loudly in my residential neighborhood while my children and my neighbor's children were watching. We are totally disgusted with the entire experience, and would urge anybody who is buying a bed to use another vendor.

no answer to emails, tracking info provided did not contain the link or shipping number to check on it.it.s been 6 weeks since placing order,recived phone call from shipper today they expect to deliver this item wed 1-24-07 between 9am-5pm so I will have to take a day off from work to sit around and wait.
