Awhile back, I used a free 2-week trial to a game rental service (don't remember who) and found that only about 10% of the games I wanted were available without delay. I thought about checking into Red Octane and found their 5-at-a-time for $40 rather appealing. I emailed them about offering a trial so that I could check out their mailing times and availability. NOTE that the website does not let you see the status of game availability until AFTER you give them your money. Well, I received no reply. A week later, I asked them to at least offer me a single rental, just so that I could browse the website to check on the availabilities. Again, no reply.
WHY DID THEY NOT REPLY? WHY DO THEY NOT OFFER A TRIAL?
Because they know that once you see their availability, you will not subscribe. I guess they figure they would at least get one month's membership from you (without chance of refund).
I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND RED OCTANE IF MEMBERSHIP WAS ONLY $5!!
Someone in the other reviews said that they don't have the availability because they have so many customers and the games are always out. I can't imagine they have that many customers with the service they provide. My guess is that they have so few customers, and even less product.
Though they have nearly every game ever published, I give "selection" a POOR rating simply because they will never have their "everything-under-the-sun" selection in stock.
