This is my first and last order with Circuit City. I was looking for a coffee maker online that we were unable to find at any store around us. I thought I had found it at Circuit City and placed the order. It turns out it was an older model and it did not have a specific feature. So 15 minutes after I placed the order I tried to use the cancel order feature online. I received a response that my package had already shipped and it was too late even though I placed my order at around 10 PM. I figured I'd wait an hour and try again, but I received the same message. I tried calling customer service and told them what happened. I was told they couldn't do anything for me because they use the same program that is online and they get the same message. This lady then told me that when I get my tracking number to call back because they can have the shipping company cancel the order and send it back. The following day I found the correct item at Best Buy and ordered it. I actually received my Best Buy package before I received my Circuit City shipping conformation email. It took Circuit City 4 days to ship the item, while it took Best Buy only 3 days to get it to my doorstep. Upon receiving my tracking number, I called only to be told I was lied to on my previous call. I would now have to wait for the item to arrive and return it to a local store. Since my local store had been closed down, this wasn't easy. So when my package finally arrived, I went to my "local" store, and I was told they would not accept the item because they do not stock it. It was an online only item so they refused it. I had to then call customer service again to get a return authorization in order for me to pay to send it back.
