On-line ordering was simple, but when trying to add an item to the order by phone, customer service kept bouncing me from person to person - with quite long queue tones in between! - without anyone stopping to listen what I wanted, thus making the long-distace call expensive. Delivery arrived to Finland within 48 hrs by UPS, which I though was very good.

The BEST, most knowledgeable house in NY, hands down! My first purchase was a Sony CCD TRV-101 Hi8 camcorder, 9 yrs ago. If you want true professional products, they have it. For serious purchases, I go there FIRST, then I check out the other guys. They have even let me try out equipment with no obligation. Sometimes it didn't work out for me and they gladly returned my money with no penalty. They have bent over backwards to help me service older equipment (at their shipping expense). Serious talk; if you want the real deal, go there and check our their stuff. It's genuine and they don't 'bait & switch,' like most of them do. B&H is honest and I continue buying from them.

When I called to report the smashed box, they allowed me to open the item to be sure that it was not damaged. They then offered to take back the damaged box with the intack CD and book, but I opted to keep it. He then told me to call back if the software was not operating properly, and return it for another one.
I'd definitely return to this store.

No help after sale of two cameras. Spent over $8,000 at this store with very little help after sale. The sale and delivery was just fine, but it's when you have problems that a good store shows its true colors. B&H failed badly in this case.

I had never used spicing tape before. The web page for these products showed rolls of tape for the first several kinds. The two products I wanted just showed a piece of tape and the number of feet was not shown. I made the mistake of not inquiring as to the amount of tape I was to receive. When I received the order I was surprised to find about a foot of tape in two very small envelopes with no instructions at all. My point is that I believe this company should let you know how much you are getting at the point of purchase.

I have been a B&H customer for 3 years and have no complaints. The one time I got a defective product, they picked it Fed Ex at their expense and shipped me the new one Fed Ex overnight. Very efficient and professional staff on the phones.

Shopping experience was fine, but trying to get the serial number from the selling dealer as suggested on the rebate form was unfruitful. The only place it can be found is on the device itself. As my unit had already been installed by a friend, I will have to take the CPU apart myself, I guess, to get the serial no. Hope I don't get electrocuted in the process!!!
Anyway, I think the rebate form should be revised, or - at least warn the customer to look for the serial no. BEFORE installing it.

I've purchased several items from B&H, including both of my digital cameras and a bunch of accessories. In every case the order has shipped promptly, been well packed, and arrived quickly. Their selection is incredible and they can be trusted. Their prices are not always the lowest but are always competitive, and the security of dealing with a trusted supplier is worth a couple of bucks. I'm a very very satisfied customer and don't hesitate to recommend B&H to anybody who asks. Good website, too.

Having been impressed by B&Hs stock, I ordered an Underwater Camera housing. Their tracking system and prompt delivery were excellent.
However the item arrived badly assembled, something that could have been checked at B&H. Having sent the item back at great expense I requested that the item be returned to me marked Exchange/Warranty as I had already paid $160 tax. This request was ignored and I incurred the same charges again. I'd say from a sales point of view B&H are excellent, but their customer service leaves something to be desired. Be wary if you are ordering from overseas, James. |

I PLACED AN ORDER ON LINE FOR A DIGITAL CAMERA AND ACCESSORIES AT 6:00AM ON TUESDAY. I ASKED FOR 2-DAY AIR SHIPMENT. AT 9:00AM, I REALIZED THAT I FORGOT TO ORDER A FLASH UNIT FOR THE CAMERA. I CALLED, WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT ADD THE FLASH TO MY ORDER BECAUSE IT HAD ALREADY GONE TO SHIPPING (3 HOURS!)...BUT I COULD PLACE A NEW ORDER. I DID (2-DAY AIR). The product I initially purchased was received by me damaged. During my first call to the customer service I was told to write some information on the shipping box and return the package. But then I thought "who pays for this?". During my second call to customer service I was issued a return label from UPS. Why didn't the person during the first call to customer service do this? Are customers expected to pay for returns unless they ask B&H to? Then I ordered a replacement for the damaged product and it was damaged in the same exact way. This leads me to believe that the damage was not caused by shipping, but more likely damaged by the manufacturer during production or packaging. I did not like the return process and I have concerns about the quality of the products.
