I have been familiar with Adorama Camera for many years, but originally bought only film from them. As a long-time Nikon film camera guy (since the late, great Nlkon SP rangefinder, plus several Nikon F's and 3-4 Nikonos), I finally decided to go digital SLR by purchasing a new Nikon D90, plus several lenses and other gear from Adorama. The main lens I was interested in was the Tokina AT-X Pro D 100 mm f/2.8 Macro lens for my close-up work. Although out of stock for a while, Adorama finally received a new shipment of these great Tokina lenses, and they quickly re-appeared on their Web site, at which time I jumped on one. I also bought a new oldie but goodie Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8 D lens for dim light conditions. I next plan to get the Nikkor AF-S DX 18-200 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II lens as soon as they become available. Initially at least, my orders have largely been based on recs from Ken Rockwell. Suffice it to say, that Ken's recs have been right on the money. Now, based on 6 separate orders over the past 2 months, I can fully verify that Adorama is a superior place to shop online for photographic gear. Orders were promptly handled (including one cancellation), and all gear and prices were as specified on Adorama's site. Even though I used regular shipping, most items took only 3 days to get to my home, they were packed well, and my local United Parcel Service guy delivered them right to my door with no hassle. I definitely plan to use Adorama in the future for any and all camera, lens, and photographic equipment purchases. You may find less expensive online camera suppliers, but
caveat emptor. Thanks again, Adorama, Ken, and Jay (my local UPS guy)!
