I ordered the camera on 12/16 and they failed to ship it until 12/22, even though it was reported to have been in stock. The recipient of this gift will not receive it until after Christmas now. I've spent thousands of dollars shopping on line (Amazon.com, PC Mall, etc) and have never been disappointed in this way. I'll not make the Abe's mistake again.

The ordering process with Abe's was simple - the representative who contacted me to confirm the order was courteous and did not try to hard-sell me on additional items. Ordered my Sony 50" Grand Wega LCD flat screen television on Dec 14 and it was delivered on Dec 22. Awesome! Great price, great service, great tracking of shipment and saved a lot of money. Look for a combination of price and customer satisfaction.

In comparison shopping, I received the best price from Abe's of Maine, and under similar circumstances, I would purchase items from them again. There was a minor stock issue that delayed my original "standard delivery" date. I was contacted for special sales related to my purchase, which I took advantage of the deals. My only need was to receive the merchandise prior to Christmas. I received an e-mail assuring me that the delivery would be on 12/21 with no additional cost. The adjusted delivery date was received as ordered and on-time.

I bought my wife a Canon Elan 7ne for Christmas and needed it quick. I order just the body because I was getting different lenses for it. Abe's of Maine called me to make sure that I knew it was just the body. They also told me it should be there the next day and it was. This couldn't be said for other stores I tried to buy from earlier in the week. They had the items in stock according to their web site but ran out of their products after I ordered. Abe's held true to their word and delivered without any problems. Everybody there was helpful and I plan to buy from them again.

i found out about this merchant from Bizrate, they had above average reviews, and the lowest price so i gave them a shot. they had exactly what i wanted, at a reasonable price and it was delivered very quickly. i'd definitely recomend this store to others.

I received immediate acknowledgement of order. Told that it would take two business days to process and paid for two day shipping to arrive for Christmas. As of this minute their tracking site says the order is processed but there is no tracking number for UPS. I have emailed them a query on the status.

The customer service people were surly and vague about answering questions. I got the feeling that Abes was like some of the worst of the camera shops. In the end I got my item without any real serious aggravation, but it would be better if you could place the order and just get the item without the intervening need to contact them to find out what's happening. The customer service people are the reason for the below average rating.

I purchased a Sony KDF60XS955 60" WEGA LCD TV and had it shipped to New Mexico from Abe's of Maine. It arrived on time, brand new, and is working great! I am very pleased with the sales person, Peter, and the way every thing was handled. After reading many reviews of on-line retailers, and seeing the bad experiences that people have had, I can recommend this one as living up to their ratings.

I will shop at Abe's of Maine again and I would recommend shopping for electronics and cameras to my friends. Abe's website was easy to use and pages loaded quickly. The items they listed were in stock and the prices were excellent. I called to check on my order and while the hold wait was fairly long (understandable near Xmas) once the representative answered and I gave my order number they knew immediately the status of my order and e-mailed me a tracking number right away. One Item was on backorder but was shipped out express (so it would arrive by Xmas) on the day I received the bulk of the order. Very good service!

Ordered a Nikkor Lens from Abe's of Maine and had a great experience dealing with their sales people and their customer service. Shipping was done very quickly, well packed and they send me a tracking number so I could watch where the package was. Package even got here a day sooner than I was told!

Ordered on Saturday and would have expected it to ship on Monday, but it didn't ship until Wednesday. Delivery was prompt once shipped. As I read in other reviews, they did call to "confirm" order and then tried to sell me accessories. I was prepared and said no at first, but they upped the offer and I did accept what I think was a good deal on some desired accessories. Over all, price was great and service was good. Fairly good experience. I felt that it might be another shopping experience where the item you want is only available if you buy it with a load of over-priced options you don't need/want. I finally relented to their pressure and purchased an obscenely over-priced set of filters because I couldn't seem to consumate the deal without buying some sort of accessory, regardless of the fact I was purchasing two expensive cameras and a back-up battery for one of them. Cudos to them for promptly shipping the product once the deal was done.

I bought a Kodak digital camera. In 24 hours I received the obligatory "confirmation" call filled with offers of accessories. I refused them all and they shipped the camera the next day. It arrived on time in perfect condition. The shipping cost was different from the comparison page I was using but not bad. I'd use them again.

I did receive a phone call from them to verify my credit card, and of course for them them to try and sell me some accessories. If you buy accessories, make sure you know what you are buying, and you really need it.

I requested 2 day air shipping, and my shipment was delayed internally at Abes because I wanted to ship as a gift, (different address than my home) and they waited more than 24 hours to verify that address with me. this made my gift late, and that is unacceptable.

Very satisfied with my purchase. The delivery time was great as I ordered a Christmas gift and chose regular ground delivery and got it within 6 days.
