The optional IP-100 Interface also plugs in the back, and allows you to use your iPod or MP3 player as the music source; it allows complete control of the iPod from the front panel of the stereo, while keeping your MP3 player fully charged. (An IC-3.5PM MP3 Adapter can also be used, but it has no charging capability and, except for the volume, the music will need to be controlled from the MP3 player.)
