After getting a diploma from the High School of Agriculture in Conegliano Veneto, and a degree from the Milan Polytechnic University of Design, he worked in the Milan studio of architect Gianfranco Frattini. Subsequently, he started his career as a designer with idealism and research being his focus. A passionate traveller and deep observer thanks to his botanical studies, he manages to decode and transfer several natural phenomena into his projects. Within 18 years, he created his own language, where the modulation of light by shapes and mechanical research play an important role. Emanuele Ricci alternated his time as a designer in the Milan studio with periods of retreat into the hills around Treviso, where he would carry out his artistic research. He currently writes a monthly column for Domus, a well known architecture and design magazine.
